The beginning
Nature for Kids was founded in 2002 by film maker Dagmar van Weeghel. Dagmar lived and worked in Africa for many years. When she worked on projects involving conservation, whereby the film would be used for educational purposes, she saw how this medium left an enormous impression on the school children. She decided to expand with this method. Dagmar developed an interactive and innovative method for learning to teach children in a playful manner to learn about nature and the environment and she put this to the test during a project a Botswana. It was received with enormous enthusiasm by children and teachers alike.
This was the beginning of Nature for Kids.
